OIT

Computer Labs at NDNU

The NDNU Labs are open some one hundered (100) hours a week during the Fall and Spring terms, and some seventy (70) hours each week during the summer.

NDNU has two open computer labs available to all registered students, alumni, Faculty and Staff: PC-Windows Lab with twenty PCs, and an Apple Macintosh Lab with twenty Macs. The Apple Macintosh Lab computers can boot to either the Macintosh or Windows environment.

All open computers on campus will require students, alumni, Faculty and Staff to login before being allowed to use the NDNU resources.

All the students are given 10MB of virtual space to save their course work during the year. OIT will carry-on a yearly maintenance and clean up (summer) of this virtual space. All users are responsible for backing up the files and information prior to this scheduled maintenance.

All requests for new software installations or upgrades (for which you have multi-users licenses) must be submitted to OIT at least two weeks prior to the first date of use. Should the upgrade or installation cause potential academic program disruptions or should the software installation conflict with currently installed applications, the installations will be re-scheduled after the conflicts are resolved.

This can be done simply by writing the room number of the desired lab in the Room Code column of the Course Offering Sheet. The Department Head or Program Director must, at that same time, submit an electronic Computer Lab Request Form to the Computer Lab Manager.
