Computer Labs at NDNU

NDNU has two computer labs open to all students: PC-Windows Lab with twenty PCs, and an Apple Macintosh Lab with twenty Macs. The Labs are open some one hundred hours a week during fall and spring terms, and some seventy hours each week during the summer. The two Labs are staffed by Student Lab Monitors all scheduled hours.

Other places on campus which have computer open to all students are the Language Lab, Tutorial Center, the Library, and the Student Lounge.

Student Use Labs (Open Labs):

  • PC Lab: Saint Mary's 115
  • The PC Lab in St. Mary's 115 has twenty PCs with Windows XP, internal 100MB Zip drives, 3.5" Floppy disk drives, CD-ROMs, and front-panel four-port USB bays. There are also two Epson scanners, one Lexmark Laser printer, one HP LaserJet printer, and a mounted LCD projector.

  • Macintosh Lab: Saint Mary's 118
  • The Macintosh Lab in St. Mary's 117 has twenty Macs (ten iMac G3s and five eMac G4s) running OS 10.3.7, with external 100MB Zip drives. The ten eMacs have internal CD-ROM burners. #19 has a "Super Drive" which can read 3.5" floppy disks. There is also a Microtek scanner, an HP Laserjet printer, and a mounted LCD projector.

  • The Madison Macintosh Lab on the first floor of the Madison/Wiegand Art Building has nine G-4 PowerMacs running OS 10.3.7. All have internal CD-ROM drives, external Zip drives, and USB inputs. There is also a scanner and printer.

Scheduling Class Use of NDNU Computer Labs

All requests to hold entire courses in NDNU's Computer Labs must be included in the Course Offering Sheets that are completed for the up-coming semester. This can be done simply by writing the room number of the desired lab in the Room Code column of the Course Offering Sheet.
The Department Head or Program Director must, at that same time, submit an electronic Computer Lab Request Form to the Computer Lab Manager.
