NDNU Student Online Accounts Information

LOGIN AND E-MAIL

Your Account. Student email accounts are created for all NDNU students registered for the current semester. Accounts for the Fall term are created on August 1, for Spring term on December 1, and for Summer term on April 15. After these dates preceding each term, accounts are created twice weekly. Accounts are created earlier than these dates for events such as Orientation.

Your email account info is also used to log-in to NDNU lab computers and to the NDNU managed wireless network where it is available. To check for wireless availability click NDNU Wireless Network.

E-mail accounts are based on Microsoft Outlook on an Exchange server, and can be accessed using any supported web browser at http://studentmail.ndnu.edu

Username.  Student usernames are created by taking the first initial of their first name followed by the entire last name. (Mary Jones = mjones). If that username is already in use, the middle initial is included ( Mary S. Jones = "msjones"). If that username is already in use, a digit is added (msjones1, then msjones2, etc). Hyphens and spaces are omitted (Mary Jones O'Hara = mjonesohara).

Password. Student passwords are comprised of the first two letters of the last name followed by the last four digits of the NDNU ID number (Mary Jones, with the ID of 123456 would have the password of jo3456).

Duration of Account.  This e-mail account will be active for the entire Fall semester and into the beginning of the Spring semester; accounts for actively-enrolled students for Spring semester will then be available throughout that semester, across the Summer term, and into the next beginning Fall semester.
Accounts for students who are not enrolled for two consecutive semesters (fall-spring, or spring-fall) and not enrolled in a summer term will be closed.

Campus Portal
Students can check class schedules, register for classes, make online payments and view financial aid information, and view grade reports through NDNU Campus Portal. The site also includes a Learning Management System (LMS) which is used for online course components such as class discussions and posting of class materials. Your Campus Portal login is your NDNU ID (not your email username). Your password is sent to your NDNU e-mail account. If you forget your password, click the Forgot Password link on the Campus Portal home page, then follow the steps to have a new password sent to you.

Moodle
The NDNU School of Business and Management employs the Moodle online learning management system. Your Moodle login is the same as your Campus Portal login (type your NDNU ID # in the username field, and your Campus Portal password in the password field).

Acceptable Use Policy
Because these accounts are official University accounts, its use is regulated by provisions of the Acceptable Use Policy for Information Technology (Computer Usage Policy).
