University Advancement
The University Advancement consists of three departments working together to maximize financial contributions to the University, develop effective community relations programs, and actively engage alumni in the life of the University.
Office of Development: Identifies, cultivates, and solicits gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations on behalf of Notre Dame de Namur University.
Office of Alumni Relations: Develops and implements events to keep alumni involved with the University.
Office of Public Relations: Communicates the accomplishments of the University, its faculty, and students to various constituencies.
The Office of Development and Public Relations' strategic programs are designed to:
- increase the level of private giving to NDNU
- strengthen existing ties with local and regional constituents
- develop new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships with institutions, organizations, and businesses.
The Office of Development directs all University fund-raising activity; centralizes information and maintains the donor/prospect database; and counsels schools and departments on fund-raising activities.
The central mission of the Office of Development is to coordinate individual, corporate and foundation fund-raising and develop relationships with donors who choose to play an active role in the health and well-being of Notre Dame de Namur University. Fund-raising programs at NDNU focus on donors' interests within the context of University needs. An active gift management and stewardship program ensures that the process of giving to NDNU will be a positive experience for all donors. Fund-raising priorities are guided by academic and programmatic needs as approved by the President.
The Office of Development:
- maintains gift records through a coordinated stewardship program that records, tracks and acknowledges all private contributions
- works with University administrators and faculty members to integrate development activities according to long-range planning of NDNU
- provides all necessary services and full administration of NDNU fund-raising efforts.
The continued financial support by the community is necessary for the maintenance and growth of the University's academic programs and endowed scholarships. Individual, corporate and foundation funding opportunities include:
- unrestricted – where the need is greatest
- scholarships
- academic programs in arts and humanities, business, education, and science
- Endowment
- the Master Plan Building Fund.
