NDNU Students
The NDNU Fund Student Program educates students on the importance of the NDNU Fund through brochures, sponsored events with Alumni, and class gift progams. The NDNU Fund Student Program begins when a student is welcomed at orientation and receives a brochure detailing the importance of the NDNU Fund. We encourage students to participate with a gift of $5.00 as a freshman. Each year a student is here, we ask for an increase of $5.00. As the student becomes a senior, we will recognize the student at the senior awards ceremony with a certificate of participation and a pin to honor their gift giving.
Students can volunteer in a couple of ways:
-
Class Gift Committee: Students can get involved with the class gift committee to lead the annual class gift campaign to raise money for the NDNU Fund.
-
The NDNU Fund Student Calling Program: Students can participate and get involved with contacting alumni and parents to ask for their support to the NDNU Fund.
Traditionally, the class committee comes together at a reunion or meeting to decide which particular projects they would like to fund and are needed on campus. This tradition was started back in 2002 and has been successful each year. The class gift committee announces at Commencement how much has been raised by presenting a check to the university. Each class year is recognized with a plaque that is displayed in St. Mary's Hall. The purpose of this class gift is to:
-
Educate students on the importance of giving annually
-
Encourage the students to continue the tradition of giving as young alumns
-
Identify and engage future alumni leaders
Each class presented a gift to the university, starting with:
Class of 2002 - The US Flag and the NDNU Flag
Class of 2003 - Two benches with each a plaque across from Cuvilly Hall
Class of 2004 - Created a new Millennium Lounge, partnering with the Center of Student Leadership
Class of 2005 - NDNU Podium for Ralston Hall Mansion
Class of 2006 - Bench across from the Carl Gellert & Celia Berta Gellert Library
Class of 2007 - Cable and 2 new flat LCD screens for the workout room in the Walter Gleason Center
Class of 2008 - Directional Signage on campus
How much do I need to give to participate?
Every gift, whatever the size, is welcomed, however many students make a gift of $20.05 in honor of their graduation year, but some give more.
How you can get involved?
The participation in the class gift committee includes the following:
-
Make a gift to the class gift or to the NDNU Fund
-
Help promote the importance of annual gifts
-
Secure 5 gifts from classmates
The NDNU Fund Student Calling Program
The NDNU Fund student calling program allows students to get involved with contacting alumni and parents to ask their support to the NDNU Fund. NDNU students are vital to the sucess of NDNU's fundraising efforts and are the strongest link to our alumni to share their experiences and the latest news from the University.
