NDNU Receives $400,000 Grant from Fletcher Jones Foundation to Upgrade Classrooms and Laboratories
Notre Dame de Namur University has received a $400,000 grant from the Fletcher Jones Foundation of Los Angeles, CA in support of a $1.7 million project to renovate one of the University’s main instructional buildings.
The project calls for renovation of classrooms, science labs, and other facilities in St. Mary’s Hall as well as improving accessibility to the building which was erected in 1952. St. Mary’s primarily serves as classroom and laboratory facility for students. All of NDNU’s science laboratories are located in St Mary’s.
The grant will be used to fund upgrades to the biology and biochemistry laboratories, computer labs, and other similar projects.
“We are extremely grateful to the Fletcher Jones Foundation for its support of NDNU,” said Dr. Judith Maxwell Greig, Acting President. “This generous grant will have an immediate impact on NDNU’s ability to provide up-to-date facilities and equipment for our students, especially those pursuing careers in the biological sciences.”
Established in 1969, The Fletcher Jones Foundation supports private colleges and universities in California.
