Hernan Bucheli, Vice President for External Affairs

Before serving Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU) as Vice President for External Affairs, Hernan Bucheli was Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enrollment and Student Affairs at Chapman University, with responsibility for enrollment at all 26 University College campuses. Prior to that, he was Systemwide Director of Enrollment Management at Alliant International University. While at Chapman, he led the effort that earned a 2007 national award for marketing and recruitment excellence from Noel Levitz.
Bucheli’s areas of responsibility include admissions, advancement, development, marketing, financial aid, communications, public relations, NCAA intercollegiate athletics, student retention, and international student services. Among other accomplishments, his efforts helped NDNU experience its highest new student enrollment ever. He brings particular expertise and leadership in strategic enrollment planning, marketing analysis, new program implementation, and retention initiatives. He has comprehensive enrollment management experience with traditional undergraduate, graduate, international, adult, and online student populations.
Bucheli holds a BA in international relations from San Francisco State University, an MA in communication from Barry University (FL), and is an EdD candidate from Northeastern University (MA).
