Courses in physical education help students develop basic physical skills through sports and offer opportunities for exercise and physical development in a way that benefits the individual participant and promotes a community spirit at the University. These courses are complemented by intercollegiate competition. The recreational aspect of the courses aims to increase the capacity of students to enjoy and share life. The team experience is intended to help students function in a competitive society while being a productive member of the larger community.
