Finding Books in the NDNU Library

Call Number

The NDNU Library uses the Library of Congress Classification in organizing its books. The Library Catalog includes a call number for each book record. The books are shelved alphabetically according to these call numbers. In order to locate a book in the stacks of the library, you will need to remember or write down the call number that has been assigned to this book.

Click here for a description of the letters and title of the main classes of the Library of Congress Classification. Please ask a reference librarian for assistance in finding a book if you cannot locate it in its regular location.

Locations

A few books are shelved in different areas of the library, such as the Reference area, the Music Section or in the Californiana Room.

Photocopy

Two photocopy machines are located on the main floor. The cost of copying is $ .10 per page.

Interlibrary Loans

If you were unable to locate a book in our library, you have the option to request the book on Interlibrary Loan from another library. Please ask the Reference Librarian for an Interlibrary Loan Request Form. Allow a minimum of 10 - 14 days for the delivery of a book. For students the fee is $1.00 per item.
