Office of the Provost
Welcome! As the Chief Academic Officer of the university, one of my roles is to tell you about the opportunities here. The second President of the United States, John Adams, said that there are two types of education. “One should teach us how to make a living and the other how to live.” Notre Dame de Namur University will teach you both.
Our goal is to offer you programs you want, that you can complete on time, and that you can launch or enhance your career with after graduating. Sign up for courses that include community engagement. Take an internship. Develop skills in thinking logically in person and in print while working with others that will benefit you in getting new jobs the future holds. Learn how to keep learning.
We ask you during your time here to consider what it means to live a good life now and after you graduate. Connect with other students. Ask your professors questions. Work hard and have fun. NDNU is the right size to maximize those opportunities and help you to reach your goals.
John Allen Lemmon, Ph.D.
