Preliminary Administrative Services Credential and Master's Degree Options

NDNU’s Preliminary Administrative Services Credential Program is a unique, thirty-unit program that brings a Master of Arts in School Administration with it. The coursework in the program addresses the critical juncture between theory and practice in instructional leadership. Credential candidates will be supported by University instructors as well as field-based partners during the program. The usual time between first and last courses is a two-calendar-year period. Courses are offered at convenient late afternoon-evening times and Saturdays.

NDNU’s Preliminary Administrative Services Credential and Master of Arts Degree in School Administration authorizes the candidate to serve as a superintendent, associate or assistant superintendent, principal, assistant principal, supervisor, consultant, coordinator, or in an equivalent, intermediate-level administrative position.

An intern option in the NDNU program is also offered. NDNU and the individual student may arrange a paid internship on an as-needed basis in coordination with the candidate’s school district.

See the NDNU General Catalog for program requirements and course descriptions.

Autism Authorization Add-On

Notre Dame de Namur University offers an add-on teaching authorization for teaching students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). This authorization can be added to an existing special education teaching credential to expand the scope of instruction for current teachers. It can also be added on to any base credential, whether it was obtained at NDNU or somewhere else.  Additionally, there may be general education teachers or related service personnel who may choose to enroll in this course sequence to better their understanding of ASD.

Admission Process

NDNU admits students throughout the year for fall, spring and summer semesters.  Please review the NDNU General Catalog for complete admission requirements.
