Sofia LozanoWhat is your favorite thing about NDNU?

My favorite thing about NDNU is the close connection to teachers, who you get to know on a personal level. Also, I love how green the campus is—it’s very beautiful.

What has been your favorite class at NDNU so far?

I have many favorite classes at NDNU, but I really have enjoyed Women and Philosophy. I’ve also enjoyed the Inner City Series, where we’ve volunteered in the Tenderloin area of San Francisco as part of our commitment to Community Based Learning.

What is your favorite thing about living in the San Francisco Bay Area?

I love the diversity in this area—diversity in people, food, music, opinion. It’s a wonderful clash of cultures and flavors!

What are you hoping to do after NDNU?

I am going to start by working in the U.S. during my period of Optional Practical Training following graduation. After that, I am considering going to graduate school—I’ve thought about eventually pursuing a Ph.D. in Education or Anthropology.

What advice would you have for new international students coming to NDNU?

Get involved!  Between athletics, community service opportunities, the International Students Club, among many other options, there are tons of activities on campus and so many ways to be engaged with NDNU. The more you involve yourself, the greater experience you’ll have as an international student.
