Jon Black

	Born and raised in Oakland, CA, I knew the Bay Area was the right place for me. With the possibility of playing lacrosse for a nationally-ranked team, NDNU represented a great opportunity. I graduated in 2008 with a BA in Sociology (Minor in Psychology). NDNU is filled with enthusiastic and passionate faculty and staff. Due to the student / faculty ratio of only 11:1, you never feel like just a number at NDNU. I like how NDNU places great emphasis on community service and social justice. Throughout my four years at NDNU, some of the highlights for me consists of touring San Quentin Federal Prison, traveling to the Tenderloin area of San Francisco for many classes, and Thanksgiving in the Park," where students volunteer and provide food for the homeless in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. With some of the greatest weather in the world, only 15 minutes away from the beach, steps away from the Silicon Valley (Google, Apple, Microsoft, etc), NDNU was the right place for me.
