Annual Carmel Alumni Retreat Weekend

Come join the Notre Dame de Namur University community at the annual Alumni Retreat Weekend at Villa Angelica in Carmel, California from January 24 – 26, 2014. This year's theme is The Power of Holiness: The Story of St. Julie Billiart.

Join us as we explore the life of St. Julie Billiart, and her journey to holiness; how she grew through all that happened to her, good and bad; and seek to understand how she, a woman from an obscure village in France, became the foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.

"St. Julie lived through the French Revolution, a period of violence and persecution of the church," said Sr. Roseanne Murphy, SNDdN. "We will let her life teach us how to live through times which challenge our faith and our hope."

The weekend will have a balance of sharing and time for reflection. The alumni retreats offer the opportunity for NDNU/ CND alumni to gather with other alumni who enjoy sharing their stories — what life has taught them — and hearing what others have found inspiring and encouraging along the way. This retreat is also a great opportunity to reconnect, enjoy the beautiful Carmel setting and join in the company of old and new friends, learning and exploring along the way.

Space is limited. The cost of the weekend is $225 per person, which includes room and board, meals and the NDNU seminar. Your reservation will be confirmed with your payment. If a cancellation is necessary, a full refund will be given, but not beyond January 15. Please make your checks out to Notre Dame de Namur University and write "Alumni Carmel Retreat" in the memo line. Please send the check to the Alumni Relations Office address listed below.

Please bring a copy of "Julie Billiart: Woman of Courage." If you do not have a copy, please contact Elizabeth Valente, Director of Alumni Relations, at alumni@ndnu.edu or 650-508-3515. The Villa Angelica is located at 27951 Highway One Carmel, CA 93923. The Office of Alumni Relations looks forward to seeing you in Carmel.
