Lance Thompson

HEAD COACH
1st Season

 

Thompson is in his first season as the Head Coach for the Argonauts.  He comes to NDNU with eight years of college coaching experience including seven as a head coach at the NAIA level.  Overall, he has amassed a 77-46-8 overall record as a men’s head coach and a 17-10-5 record as a women’s coach.  Prior to coming to NDNU, Thompson was an assistant coach at Division II powerhouse Midwestern State for one season as well as Head Coach at both Holy Names University and Alliant International.  At Midwestern he helped lead the school to a Southwest Soccer Conference regular season championship and a #11 national ranking.  Prior to Midwestern, Thompson was the men’s head soccer coach and Athletic Director at Holy Names University for two seasons.  During that time, Holy Names won the Cal Pac Championship in 2004 and was NAIA Region II Champions.    Prior to that, Thompson led the Alliant International men’s soccer program for five seasons and the women’s program for two.  At Alliant, Thompson led the men to a 2001 NAIA Region II Championship and a Top 25 NAIA National Ranking in both 2001 and 2003.  In addition, Thompson has coached 16 athletes named to the NAIA All-America Academic team, 13 NAIA All-Americans, and had the California Pacific Conference Player of the Year twice.
