Mike Rudder
Head Coach
Coach Rudder begins his second season at the helm of the NDNU women’s basketball program. Rudder has been coaching in the Bay Area for over 25 years with the last seven as an assistant with the NDNU men’s basketball team. He was primarily responsible for player development at the guard positions, shooting and recruiting. Prior to NDNU, Rudder spent eight years at various high schools in San Jose. He was the boy’s head varsity coach at San Jose High Academy from 1993-1995 and 1997-2000 where he led the team to two conference championships. From 1995-1997, Rudder was the head coach at Leland High School. His other coaching experiences came as assistants at Willow Glen HS and Los Gatos HS. He has also been the Head Tennis Coach at NDNU for the past two seasons.
Coach Rudder was born and raised in the Bay Area and is known as one of the all-time great shooters in the Bay Area by several coaches. He played at De Anza College and Wenatchee Valley College in Washington before moving on to play at Sacramento State University. At Sacramento State, he helped the team win the Far West Conference Championship in 1978.
