Taft Community School, 1:30 - 5 p.m., 20 participants needed: Inspiring Youth to Achieve Their Dreams!
Helping inspire youth to graduate starts TODAY! Here at The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Peninsula, Taft School, you will help our members explore colleges, practice the basics and learn about you and your path. While our parents want our students to attend college, less than 10% have experience going to college. This is where you come in. Every time our students get to interact with someone who has gone to college, the more likely they are to pursue it themselves. Volunteers will work in groups of 2-8 people work with grade level classes to support academic programming such as Jeopardy, build your own graduation caps and math games.BGCP is the area's largest at-risk youth development organization. We serve students in East Palo Alto, Redwood City and eastern Menlo Park, implementing proven social and academic interventions that most impact a child's achievement in school and in life.
