The Commencement ceremony begins promptly at 9:00am and is approximately two hours in length, depending on the number of graduates from year to year. Graduates are seated within their school. Master’s degree students are in front of the bachelor’s degree students within each school. Graduates are not seated in alphabetical order, but typically will sit with their friends from their particular program.  Students are required to stay for the full duration of Commencement.

Seating is first-come, first-serve for guests.  All guests will need a ticket for entry.

The Koret field is an artificial turf field and generates additional heat from the sun.  Students and guests are encouraged to layer their clothing and stay hydrated prior to and during the ceremony.  It is not advised to bring children or guests who may have medical conditions that could have adverse reactions to the sun or heat.

NDNU diplomas, both undergraduate and graduate, measure 8 x 10 inches in landscape format.

Diplomas are distributed approximately 10 to 12 weeks after the Commencement ceremony. All financial obligations to the University must be cleared before the diploma can be mailed or picked up.
