Notre Dame de Namur University, in conjunction with Bon Appétit, is proud to offer a comprehensive package of meal plan options designed to meet a variety of student dining habits. The following is an explanation of the options, affording you the time and information to carefully consider your meal plan selection.
Meal Plans
These meal plans s t r e t c h your dollar. You don't have to pull money out of your wallet or purse, you get cash dollars in value and do not pay sales tax, as you do when using cash. You can purchase a snack or if you use up your meal plan for the week you can use your flex dollars to purchase your meal. Because you use your student ID card for purchases, you have the convenience of a debit card at your fingertips. With the Flex Plan, you may treat guests to a meal in the Café anytime!

NOTE: All students living on campus must purchase a meal plan.
Question and Answers
Q: Will the prices for meal plan flex dollars be different than for those paying cash?
A: No, using your flex dollars is simple. The cashier will ring up the transaction just as if you are using cash, and will then swipe your card through the register deducting the amount from your flex plan account.
Q: How do I know how many flex dollars I have left?
A: Your remaining balance is reflected on the cashier's register screen at the conclusion of each transaction.
Q: If I run out of flex dollars during the semester may I purchase more?
A: Certainly, just stop by the Business Office to purchase more flex dollars. They may be purchased in blocks of $20 at any time during the semester.
Q: If I purchase a flex plan during the Fall semester and don't use up all of my flex dollars, may I utilize them during the second semester?
A: Yes. Flex dollars from Fall semester carry over and are added to the Spring semester flex dollar allotment. Flex dollars do not carry over from one academic year to the next.
Q: Can I change my meal plan once school starts?
A: Yes. You may change your meal plan during the first two weeks of the fall semester and during the first week of the spring semester.
Q: Can I buy a friend a meal with my flex dollars?
A: Yes. You can purchase a meal for a friend in the Café.
General Meal Plan Information
Meal plans allow you to eat any 19, 15, or 11 weekly meals between Monday breakfast and Sunday dinner. Uneaten meals don't carry over from week to week or semester to semester, so please plan carefully when choosing your meal plan.
When you have decided which meal plan to purchase, be sure and indicate your selection on your housing contract. Additional Flex dollars can be purchased at the business office.
