Student Training Engagement Program

This academic year will be the first of the NDNU Student Training Engagement Program (NDNU STEP). This program will consist of a series of interactive workshops designed to help students develop and refine personal leadership skills. Participants may choose to take part in as many sessions as they would like. The intention is to create one track for student club/organization leaders and another track for students interested in enhancing their understanding of leadership.

Keeping your Members Hooked!

Has your club/organization struggled with retaining membership? How about keeping members motivated and involved? This workshop will explore the challenges many clubs/organizations face with membership retention and motivation and provide strategies that will help turn your membership from inactive to active!

Programming & Promotions!

Having trouble planning or promoting your events? Tired of putting on the same programs for your club/organization? This workshop will provide effective methods of planning and promoting programs and events and brainstorm creative ideas to jazz up your programs and events.

Transitioning Leadership

Sustainable leadership is the key towards having long-term success for any club/organization. Is your club/organization prepared to fill existing or potential future vacancies? Are current members prepared to transition smoothly into a variety of roles and responsibilities? This workshop will look at strategies for succession planning and key elements involved in leadership transition.

Group Dynamics

With so many different leadership styles and personalities, it can be difficult for everybody to get along. This workshop will focus on learning about the different style and dynamics inherent in your group and how to work with and respect each type to create a positive and productive atmosphere. We will also look at how to handle conflict and look at strategies to effectively manage and resolve it.
