“I am Yasmine Kury and currently serving the community of Notre Dame de Namur University as President of the Associated Students. I am a fourth year student majoring in Political Science with a minor in History. I am thrilled this year to be in this elected position to better unite the community. Vice President: Suzanne Sangervasi
“I am Suzanne Sangervasi and currently serving NDNU as Vice President. I am a second year student double majoring in Liberal Studies and English with a minor in French. “My name is Joy Aud and I am currently ASNDNU Treasurer. In high school, I was a senator for student government, working closely with our treasurer. I was also the vice-President of Drug Free Bulldogs and Interact Club. This past year, I was the representative for the golf team on the Athletic Advisory Council at NDNU. I am very excited about being in AS and hope to make this year the best ever.”

Alexandra is a sophomore from Torrance , California who is majoring in Biology. Alexandra is a very active student as she is also one of the President’s Ambassadors and the secretary of Latinos Unidos Club here at NDNU.

ASNDNU Responsibilities
The Associated Students of Notre Dame de Namur University (ASNDNU) is the official student governing body of the University. The purpose of ASNDNU is to provide for the general welfare of the Association and the University. In doing so, ASNDNU will be given powers and responsibilities as follows:
- To be recognized as the official voice of the Association membership.
- To promote student interest in all areas of life at the University.
- To raise and allocate funds.
- To coordinate and support Association activities.
- To review, advise, and make recommendations, as appropriate, to the University Administration regarding the establishment and implementation of University policies and procedures.
- To be an active participant on University boards, committees and councils, as designated by University Administration.
- To hold elections and meetings to discuss and vote on important issues related to student life.
- To uphold and honor the mission of the University, recognize the mission of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur: peace, social justice, and education for all.
The Executive Branch
The Executive Branch shall be responsible for the coordination, implementation, and evaluation of all Association activities, programs, and services. The Executive Branch will work cooperatively with the Senate to formulate and present a descriptive summary of student life at the University. This report shall be sent to the University President, Administration, Office of Student Activities, and to each member of the Board of Governance. There shall be four executive offices elected in accordance with Article V: the President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary.
The Senate
The Senate shall be the primary legislative body of the ASNDNU. Senators have the primary responsibility for the fiscal matters of the ASNDNU. Senate members shall be responsible primarily to their respective constituent community and secondarily to the affiliated organization. Each senator is required to serve on at least one University committee or council for the entire academic year, to be determined at the first A.S. meeting of the Fall Semester. All students enrolled at the University are welcome to participate in Senate meetings.
Through the Senate, students can express their opinions on matters pertaining to their life at the University, be instrumental in making changes and can serve on committees and councils for Academic Affairs, Campus Life, and other governance organizations.
