Speaker: Minh Dang
Topic: Human Trafficking (personal experience)
Minh Dang is currently a Combined MSW and PhD student at UC Berkeley in Social Welfare. Prior to graduate studies, she worked at UC Berkeley's Cal Corps Public Service Center as the Bonner Leaders AmeriCorps Program Director. Minh is a Co-Facilitator for Adult Survivors of Childhood Abuse (ASCA) meetings in Berkeley and sits on the Board of Directors for Youth Engagement Advocacy Housing (YEAH!), a non-profit that serves youth ages 18-25 who are homeless. Minh graduated from UC Berkeley with a B.A. in Sociology in 2006. As an undergraduate, Minh coordinated recruitment and retention of underserved minority students pursuing higher education, and participated in cross-cultural coalitions and anti-racist work. Recently, she was featured in Cosmo magazine's August Issue and on MSNBC's undercover documentary called "Sex Slaves: Minh's Story."
