The Bob and Marie Damrell Gallo Society

Marie graduated in 1957 with a BA in English and a teaching credential. While a student, she demonstrated both her personal commitment to service and her exceptional leadership skills, serving as Senior Class President and Editor of the student newspaper, The Belmontan. She was described in her yearbook as having “unfailing solicitude for the feelings of others.” Two of Marie’s great aunts were Notre Dame de Namur nuns, so she has always felt close to the Sisters who founded this great school.

Both Bob and Marie have served on the NDNU Board of Trustees and have received the Leadership Society Award and Trustee Distinguished Award. In 2008, Marie was honored with the NDNU Community Spirit Award for exemplifying the mission of Notre Dame.

This Society honors donors who reached a cumulative of outright gifts of cash, securities, gifts-in-kind, or a pledge totaling $500,000 and above.

Recognition is also given to those donors who have formally notified the University that they have included a $2,500,000 bequest to NDNU in their will or to those who have established a planned gift to benefit the University, such as a non-term life insurance policy or a charitable remainder trust with a value of $2,500,000.

Donors in the Bob and Marie Damrell Gallo Society will receive naming opportunities as appropriate, be recognized at the Donor Recognition event, in the University’s Honor Roll of Donors and will receive a commemorative gift.
