The Lorry Lokey Society
Many have called Mr. Lokey a “philanthropic hero.” At NDNU he is both a hero and an inspirational role model to the many students who have benefited from his extraordinary generosity beginning in 2008 when he pledged $1,000,000 to NDNU for an endowed scholarship. At the 2009 inauguration of President Judith Maxwell Greig, he issued a $25,000 matching grant challenge for an endowed scholarship in her name. Lorry didn’t stop there. At the 2013 President’s Gala he made a matching pledge of $50,000, a challenge our alumni and friends met within minutes.
This Society honors donors who reached a cumulative of outright gifts of cash, securities, gifts-in-kind or a pledge totaling $1,000,000 and above.
Recognition is also given to those donors who have formally notified the University that they have included a $5,000,000 bequest to NDNU in their will or to those who have established a planned gift to benefit the University, such as a non-term life insurance policy or a charitable remainder trust with a value of $5,000,000.
Donors in the Lorry Lokey Society will receive naming opportunities as appropriate, be recognized at the Donor Recognition event, in the University’s Honor Roll of Donors and will receive a commemorative gift.
