Hundreds Show Up at NDNU Gala to Honor Attorney Joe Cotchett

Belmont, CA, May 24, 2010 — Nearly 500 guests filled Notre Dame De Namur University’s Walter Gleason Center on Saturday, May 22 to honor attorney Joseph W. Cotchett at the 2010 NDNU President’s Gala. This was the highest-attended gala in its seven-year history.

Attendees included Congresswomen Jackie Speier and Anna Eshoo, Congressman George Miller, chairman of the House Education and Labor Committee, Assemblyman Jerry Hill, former San Francisco Mayor Art Agnos, and former Congressman Pete McCloskey, as well as friends of Mr. Cotchett and the University. NDNU President Judith Maxwell Greig and Chairman of the Board of Trustees Marc Desautels presented Mr. Cotchett with the seventh annual Community Spirit Award, which recognizes individuals who promote the values of social justice through community engagement. Upon receiving his award, Mr. Cotchett spoke about the importance of education, and the difference that NDNU graduates have made in the community and the world.
