Dr. John Lemmon Appointed Interim Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Notre Dame de Namur University
Belmont, CA, September 6, 2011 — Notre Dame de Namur University announced the appointment of John Lemmon, Ph.D. as interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. He succeeds Lisa Bjerknes, MD, who has served as interim dean since July 1, 2010.
He comes to NDNU from San Francisco State University, where he was a professor in the School of Social Work and an administrator for the College of Extended Learning part-time Master of Social Work program. He is the author of Family Mediation Practice and co-author of Social Work and the Law, and he recently wrote a chapter for the Social Workers’ Desk Reference. Other past teaching experience includes positions at Dominican University; University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana; University of California, Berkeley; and University of San Francisco.
Dr. Lemmon has extensive experience in mediation training and is the founder of Lemmon Mediation Institute, which provides training in leadership and sustainability, workplace mediation, anger management, and other areas.

I am certain he will provide outstanding leadership to the College of Arts and Sciences.” Dr. Lemmon holds a BS in Education and an MS in Clinical Psychology from Illinois State University, and a Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
