Former Economic Hit Man To Speak At Notre Dame de Namur University

Belmont, CA, April 5, 2012 — Need an economic hit man? Don't ask John Perkins, because he's no longer for hire. The author of "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" and more recently "Hoodwinked" will present "High Finance, Low Ethics: When the World is Run by a Corporatocracy" at the Dorothy Stang Speaker Series at Notre Dame de Namur University on April 12 at 7 p.m.

Perkins was formerly the chief economist for a major international consulting firm. He has worked closely with CEOs of major corporations and heads of state, advising Fortune 500 companies, the World Bank, United Nations, International Monetary Fund (IMF), U.S. Treasury Department and a number of foreign countries. More recently, he was the CEO of an alternative energy company, and he established Dream Change, The Pachamama Alliance and other nonprofits focused on sustainability.

This Dorothy Stang Speaker Series event is co-sponsored by the School of Business and Management and the Glaziers' Union Local #718. Admission is free and light vegan refreshments will be served. Perkins will speak in the Carl Gellert and Celia Berta Gellert Library at Notre Dame de Namur University, 1500 Ralston Avenue in Belmont.
