Leading Financial Advisor and Bestselling Author Fisher To Speak At Notre Dame de Namur University
Belmont, CA, March 9, 2012 — One thing is for sure, Ken Fisher knows money. The Chairman and CEO of Fisher Investments will share his vast experience at the Distinguished Speakers Series at Notre Dame de Namur University on March 15 at 5:30 p.m. in Ralston Hall Mansion.
Fisher is the fourth-longest running columnist in Forbes history; he has written the Forbes’ Portfolio Strategy column for over 27 years. He has also written eight major books, including the 2011 national bestseller “Markets Never Forget.” His other titles, including “Debunkery,” “How to Smell a Rat,” and “The Ten Roads to Riches,” are New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today and Business Week bestsellers. In 2010, Fisher was recognized in Investment Advisor magazine’s prestigious list of the industry’s 30 most influential people over the last 30 years.
“This is an exceptional opportunity for our students and the community to learn about finance and investments from a master,” said Barbara Caulley, dean of the School of Business and Management. “Ken Fisher has enjoyed a long career as one of the world’s leading financial advisors.”
His research in the financial sphere has been credited in numerous professional and scholarly journals and in 2009 he was awarded the inaugural annual Tiburon Strategic Advisors “CEO Summit” award for “Challenging Conventional Wisdom” alongside Charles Schwab who received the award for “Focusing on Customer Needs.” However, his knowledge doesn’t stop with finance; his interests also include the history of Kings Mountain, California, 19th century redwood lumbering history and all aspects of redwood science. Fisher’s wife, Sherrilyn, received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from NDNU.
The Ralston Mansion is located on NDNU’s campus at 1500 Ralston Avenue in Belmont. Refreshments will be served at 5:30 p.m.; the presentation begins at 6 p.m.
