NDNU Appoints Alex Kramer as Vice President for Finance and Administration

Belmont, CA, July 14, 2009 — Notre Dame de Namur University today announced that Alex Kramer has been appointed Vice President for Finance and Administration, effective August 1. He will replace Henry Roth, Director of the Graduate Business Program, who has been serving as interim CFO since January of this year.

Kramer comes to NDNU from John F. Kennedy University, where he has served as Vice President for Administration and CFO since late 2004. He led that university through its first planning and budgeting process geared toward program profitability and competitive analysis. Kramer has 26 years of senior and executive level experience, including a position as a consultant/relationship manager for Bank of America through American Management Systems, Inc, and has also served as a contract CFO for various internet startups.

“I am extremely happy that Alex has agreed to come to NDNU,” said NDNU President Judith Maxwell Greig. “We are confident that his leadership ability, his skills in collaboration and communication, his deep financial knowledge, and his resonance with the university’s mission and values will be a wonderful addition to our University. We are also very grateful to Henry Roth for all he has contributed as interim CFO.”

Kramer has his B.S. in Chemistry from Kent State University and his M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Pittsburg. Kramer has also served as a Captain for U.S. Army Intelligence, and is fluent in Russian.

Thomas Hannen, Ph.D., who previously served as Dean of the School of Business and Management and CFO of the university, has been appointed Interim Dean of the School of Business and Management effective July 1, replacing James Fogal, who will continue to teach in the school.
