NDNU Again Ranked Among Best Regional Universities by U.S. News & World Report

Belmont, CA, September 13, 2012 — Notre Dame de Namur University is pleased to announce it  has once again been ranked among the best regional universities in the west in the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges Rankings.

“We believe our ranking reflects our ability to maintain academic excellence while remaining true to our mission of providing access to the underserved,” said NDNU President Judith Maxwell Greig. “The combination of a higher academic profile, a wide range of academic support services and our recognition as a Hispanic Serving Institution is evidence of our commitment to provide a rich academic experience to all.”

President Greig also noted that while the US News rankings take into account many important measures of quality, they also miss many others, including opportunities for community engagement which many students find extremely important.

“At NDNU our students venture into the community that surrounds us, implementing what they learn in the classroom to deal with real-world issues.  We believe this real-world learning is essential to any quality university education,” she added.
