Creative Writers Series: Zara Raab and Jeanne Wagner

Zara Raab lives in Berkeley, but she grew up on the North Coast, where her ancestors farmed, raised cattle and harvested tan oak. Her poems appear in River Styx, Crab Orchard Review, Evansville Review, and elsewhere. Her most recent book is Swimming the Eel (David Robert Books, 2011).

Jeanne Wagner is the recipient of several national awards, including the MacGuffin Poet Hunt, the Ann Stanford Prize, the Briar Cliff Review Award and the 2011 Inkwell Prize, judged by Mark Doty. Her poems have appeared in Spoon River Poetry Review, RHINO, Cincinnati Review, Alaska Quarterly Review and PBS website's Poem of the Week. She has five collections of poetry, the most recently, In The Body Of Our Lives, was released by Sixteen Rivers Press in 2011.

Distinguished Speakers Series: Ken FisherPDF

The Distinguished Speakers Series presents Ken Fisher. Ken is founder, Chairman and CEO of Fisher Investments, a $41 billion money management firm. He is best known for his over 27 years as Forbes' Portfolio Strategy columnist. Ken has written eight major books, including the 2011 national bestseller Markets Never Forget.

Adam Guettel's lush score tells the story of love found and lost in the museums, plazas, and living rooms of Florence. The Tony Award winning musical is based on Elizabeth Spencer' 1960 novella and the 1962 film starring Olivia de Havilland, Rossano Brazzi, George Hamilton and Yvette Mimieux.

Jerry Herman's outstanding 1974 score accompanies the tale of Mack Sennett and Mabel Normand, pioneers and stars of the silent scree, whose offstage dramas often outshone the action on the set. MTC alumni and faculty contribute their talent. All proceeds will benefit student scholarships to the summer Music Theatre Conservatory program.
