Student Directed Showcase Productions at NDNU Theatre
Belmont, CA, February 2, 2012— The death of a town, suppressed desires and a call from God highlight the Notre Dame de Namur University Department of Theatre and Dance's annual Student Showcase February 9, 10 and 11 at the NDNU Theatre.
The Student Showcase provides the capstone experience for senior theatre majors. Each student assumes overall responsibility for selecting and casting a play, and coordinating the design and technical support provided to the production by the Theatre and Dance faculty and staff.
Seniors Morgan Lewis, Lindsay Saier and Jennifer Salmeron, who are veterans of numerous NDNU Theatre and Dance productions, will direct Tennessee Williams' This Property Is Condemned, Susan Glaspell's Suppressed Desires and Matt Casarino's Larry Gets the Call, respectively.
The Student Showcase will also include presentations of two short scenes and a monologue performed by Morgan Lewis, Margaret Gorrell and Danielle Vivion, who have been selected to participate in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Irene Ryan Acting Competition in Fort Collins Colorado February 12-17.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. February 9, 10, and 11 in the NDNU Theatre, located at 1500 Ralston Avenue in Belmont. General admission is $10. The Box Office will open one hour before curtain each night. Call (650) 508-3456 for tickets and information.
