Have you ever had one of those days? I know I have; and for Gatley, Silvio, and Natwick it's just one day after the next. The greatest strengths an individual can possess are optimism and fortitude, which I believe is the underlying theme of this play. Underneath all the bravado there is a great deal of vulnerability that we don't always catch. Sometimes things that are beyond our control can alter us forever. And the only consolation we have is that with each day that passes, the next will be easier to cope with. The past is nothing more than prologue to today and today will never come again. -Rian Krahn

Singer Alanis Morissette once put it "Life is a little too ironic, don't you think?" What can seem to be the simplest activities (e.g., getting someone's attention, finding your car keys) can indeed cause the most resistance and heartache. Why is this so? It is a part of out human nature to take our possessions for granted. Do we really ever stop to appreciate having a significant other or a brand new Mercedes in out life? In this materialistic society, where immediate gratification is dominant, we constantly act as though we have nothing and need more, when we know we have everything. The frame of mind is shattered when our love one passes away or the car crashes and burns. Tonight in this café, four eccentric personalities, in a span of fifteen minutes, will learn to appreciate each other by understanding the challenges and the lessons life brings with letting loved ones and lifetime opportunities pass then by. -Jonathan Knott

We are thrilled to have this exciting opportunity to once again direct and contribute to the experience and growth of the theatre students. We are honored to have been asked to work with such talented performers and found it a delightful challenge to find material. Out of our desire to find a demanding piece that would showcase all of the actors we created a collaboration with these four scenes. Tonight is a night at the jazz bar highlighting the different lives that pass through it's doors. This world has been brought to life by our gifted actors, whom we are privileged to have participated in furthering their acting endeavors. Mike is right, there is always a place at the table for all of us. -Katie Hill and Leighanna Edwards
