Notre Dame de Namur University Announces the Appointment of Two New Board Members
James Revell and Sheila Smith McKoy will bring valuable experience and leadership skills
BELMONT, CA (March 15, 2022) – Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU) President Beth Martin announced today the appointment of two new members to the university’s Board of Trustees. Joining the Board are James Revell, MBA, and Sheila Smith McKoy, Ph.D.
“We are delighted to welcome James and Sheila to the Board. They are both highly distinguished in their respective fields and have exemplified the social justice mission of the school in their personal endeavors. They will bring deep expertise in both industry and higher education to their roles on the Board,” Board Chair Sr. Jean Stoner said.
Beth Martin stated, “Both James and Sheila bring personal and professional experience that will help us build the NDNU of the future. The Board will benefit from James’ deep knowledge of NDNU and extensive business experience. Sheila’s expertise in the field of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, in addition to her career in higher education, will be invaluable. Both are inspired by and dedicated to NDNU’s mission.”
James Revell, MBA is Head of Ecommerce, North America at Admitad, Inc., a global IT company, where for its affiliate network business he drives and develops new strategic partnerships with brands, merchants, advertisers, and publishers. He also serves as a Mentor and Advisor at MuckerLab, a mentorship-driven startup accelerator based in Southern California and is a member of San José State University’s Alumni Board. James earned two degrees from NDNU, beginning with an MPA with honors in 1998, followed by an MBA in marketing with a service excellence award in 2018. James served on NDNU’s Alumni Board from 2007-2011.
Sheila Smith McKoy, Ph.D. has over 30 years of higher education experience and is currently Founder and Principal at Smith McKoy & Associates, where she consults in the areas of strategic planning and training in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion. She has previously served as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Holy Names University as well as Professor, Chair of the Department of English at Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw GA, and director of the program in Africana Studies and the African American Cultural Center at North Carolina State University.
