Caryl Hodges

Caryl Hodges, Ed.D., was a teacher & principal prior to earning her doctorate at University of San Francisco, where she also served as a part-time faculty member for the USF Teacher Education Department. Upon earning her doctorate degree she was appointed Assistant Professor. Caryl taught credential & MA courses in Teacher Education and TESOL Programs at the USF main campus and in Xiamen, China. She was hired as Associate Dean at NDNUand, in 2014, she become Dean of the School of Education, stepping down to become a part-time faculty member in July 2024. She current serves as the CalTPA Coordinator, Accreditation Consultant, & Placement Gen Ed Credential Programs Director. Dr. Hodges is active in a range of professional, school, and community organizations. She is a volunteer in the 4-H program leading projects from animal care to dog training and STEM projects. She is active in non-profit organizations supporting a range of issues including arts education, environmental issues, mental health, and affordable housing. She raises and shows English Setter dogs.
