Karen Ann Breslow

Ms. Breslow brings 50 years of experience in special education. She has served as a Speech-Language Pathologist in both public schools and private institutions, while teaching at San Diego State University and Dominican College. After some years as a Special Day Class teacher, Ms. Breslow soon entered the administrative realm at the district and county levels. She most recently retired from the San Mateo County SELPA, where she provided support and training to special education personnel, administrators and families in 33 school districts. Currently, she is serving as a consultant to school districts and Nonpublic Schools. As the sibling of a severely disabled brother, she has been in almost every seat at the table in IEP meetings. These experiences make her a passionate instructor. Ms. Breslow’s goal at Notre Dame De Namur University is to equip her students with the knowledge and skills to produce legally compliant IEP documents and to chair efficient and effective IEP meetings.
