John M Veitch

John Veitch is the Dean of the School of Business and Management. A Canadian native, John graduated from Trinity College at the University of Toronto with a bachelor’s degree in Economics. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University in 1985. His areas of focus included financial institutions, monetary economics, and economic forecasting. He has conducted research in international finance, monetary economics, and discrimination in financial markets. John has more than three decades of experience in higher education, including serving as a faculty member, department chair, and associate dean at the University of San Francisco, as well as an assistant professor at the University of Southern California. He also served as Head of Planning for the Learning Experience, Assessment and Development area at the CFA Institute, where he helped transform the skill- and competency-based curriculum for investment management and supported the CFA Institute’s transition to a digital-first platform.
