You have a person, not an inbox — and they will find you first.
Every school has a CETL Instructional Designer. Yours will email you within your first week to introduce themselves and offer help with your course. You do not have to request it, and you do not have to know what to ask for yet.

Your ID is your standing contact for course design, Canvas, accessibility, and teaching with technology. Email them directly, or book time on their calendar — the booking page works without an NDNU account, the first meeting is free, and it commits you to nothing.

Four levels of support

| Course refresh | "A week or more before I publish for the new term." | One consultation with your ID to review and tweak. |
| Course revision | "A month or more to improve design, Canvas use, or accessibility." | A multi-meeting revision partnership with your ID. |
| Full course development | "Eight weeks or more to design a new course." | A full design partnership through the Checklist and Toolkit. The most intensive option, with the strongest result. |
Get started with Canvas
- The Canvas Instructor Guide has videos and how-to resources for every tool.
- CETL hosts a self-paced Introduction to Canvas course. Ask your ID to enroll you.
- Campus Technologies covers the tools built into your Canvas courses — Ally, Lucid, and Studio.
- The CETL Video Studio gives you a professional recording space with on-site assistance. You do not have to figure out video production alone.
Two habits that prevent most new-instructor problems: walk Student View before every launch, and remember that everything must be published — courses, modules, pages, and assignments each have their own publish state. A perfectly built course that no student can see is the most common first-term mistake.
