Welcome to the "New Faculty Guide to Getting Started" at NDNU.

The Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning (CETL, pronounced SEE-tul) created this guide for new faculty to support your technical onboarding at NDNU.

After you've reviewed this guide, you will be able to access your NDNU login and all of your accounts (email, Canvas, Zoom), find answers to frequently asked questions, and connect to essential support resources for you and your students.

Guide overview

Before Hiring

Accept your offer, complete HR onboarding, review the Employee Handbook, the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and other resources while you wait to receive your login ID.

After Hiring

After you receive your login ID, access your email and Microsoft 365, Campus Portal, Canvas, Zoom, the academic calendar, your syllabus template, as well the Instructional Designer assigned to your school.

What to Do If…?

Review common questions and answers and be able refer to this resource in an emergency.

Ongoing Support

Become familiar with the offices you and your students will rely on for support.

Looking ahead

After completing this technical onboarding, you are invited by your Dean to continue onboarding to your teaching role and the teaching mission at NDNU by taking our self-paced Canvas course, "Teaching with Purpose at NDNU."
